Parade Information

Each year, Jewels Dance participates in two holiday parades; the City of Boca Raton Holiday Parade and the City of Delray Beach Holiday Parade. They usually fall during the first week of December each year. Company members and recreational dancers with the studio are invited to join in the fun and even Moms and Dads are encouraged to walk along with the gang. The studio decorates a float and some of the younger dancers ride along while waving to all the spectators! We have won several recognitions from each parade over the years. It’s always a very exciting evening!

Each dancer must have a parade costume in order to participate. The orders for these costumes are finalized by October 1st and the cost of the costume is $65.00. You may choose red or green. Both cities require any person participating in the parade to be identifiable to the group with whom they are participating. Jewels does this by having each parent who chooses to walk along wear a Jewels dance t-shirt. These shirts are $15.00. Please see a staff member at the front desk to purchase one as they are required if you wish to participate in the parade.

Just for 2007, we are participating in only the Delray Beach Holiday Parade.  This year's date is:

Saturday, December 8th, 2007 at 6:00pm

You will receive specific instructions for the parade as the date gets closer. Plan to arrive early as the city blocks off the roads after a certain time. Please have your dancer in full costume with hair up in a high pony. A ribbon for the hair will be distributed at this time.

All dancers must purchase a parade costume. We keep the same costumes each year, so once you have purchased the costume, you’re good to go. They are $65.00 and are available in your choice of red or green. If you have previously purchased a costume and your dancer has grown out of it, we suggest finding a younger company member to sell your costume to in order to offset the cost of purchasing a new one.

If you already own a parade costume, please inform the Front Desk what color costume you own and that you will be using it in this years parade.

Also, each dancer must wear white ankle socks, tan capezio tights that are not dirty and have no runs, and white leather tennis style shoes (some people refer to them as “Bo-Bo’s”). The shoes can be purchased at Target for usually around 9.99.

If you are new to Company or have rented your costume in the past, please notify a staff member at the Front Desk no later than October 1st that you need to order a parade costume. We will NO LONGER HAVE COSTUMES AVAILABLE TO RENT. Costumes MUST be purchased.
