Giving Back to our Community

Jewels Dance is honored to be a part of such a wonderful community. We recognize our blessings and through that, wish to pay it forward and bless others. In addition to participating in various performances in the community throughout the year, we have two causes very near and dear to our hearts.

In our inaugural year, we have decided to make becoming a Toys For Tots drop off location a Jewels Dance tradition. Children are the lifeblood of our studio and no child should have to worry if they will be forgotten this holiday season. Any family who chooses to participate may bring an unwrapped toy to the studio between November 26th and December 10th. This effort is open to anyone who wishes to join in. We thank you in advance for making a difference in the life of a child.

In honor of one of our own, Jewels Dance is participating in Locks of Love. We have challenged all of our company dancers (and Moms too!) to agree that from June 14th, 2007 to June 14th, 2008, they will not cut their hair. On June 14th, 2008 (the weekend after recital) we will all go TOGETHER as a studio and have our hair cut to donate to LOCKS OF LOVE. This will give everyone a full year of growing to meet the length requirement (10 inches) to donate and will also give us nearly a full year to have growth for the next year’s competition/recital season. As added incentive, Miss Julie has made the commitment that for each dancer who participates, they will receive a special surprise from her personally in honor of their compassion.

If you would like to make the commitment to help these children feel brighter about themselves and have a better outlook on their future, and honor one of our own, please see a staff member at the front desk to have your name added to our list!
