Class Descriptions
Preschool Dance, Pre-Ballet, Tap, Acrobatics and Jazz
Age 2.5 to 5 years
An introduction to all these dance forms and basic classroom procedure.
Great for improving motor skills, coordination, balance and gaining a sense of rhythm.
Musical Theater
Ages 6 years and up
Combines music, song, dance and improvisation. Students will learn movement presentation, interpretation for the stage, and some history of
musical theater.
Ballet Basics
Ages 6 and 7 years
Learn basic movements and language of Classical Ballet. Barre and center instruction will
also be included.
Tap Basics
Ages 6 and 7 years
Learn the basic steps of tap dance. Emphasis is placed on rhythm and beat.
Jazz Basics
Ages 6 and 7 years
Learn the many styles and techniques that make up this truly American dance form.
Hip-Hop Basics
Ages 6 and 7 years
This class is high energy and lots of fun. It combines Modern Dance with the latest funky
moves to popular music.
Ballet/Pointe
10 years and up
Receive technical training covering the positions of Classical Ballet, barre, center floor work,
and the usage of terminology. Pointe work is offered when technical readiness is achieved;
all students age 8 and up and able to participate in ballet. Pointe is not offered before the age of 10. Students on Pointe and required to take at least one other technical ballet class
per week.
Tap
8 years and up
Learn rhythmic exercises, center floor work, and progress in tapping with clarity, speed, style
and knowledge of terminology.
Jazz
8 years and up
Engage in thorough center floor warm-up routines and combinations across the floor.
Learn a great sense of rhythm while gaining an awareness of correct body placement
conscientiously applying technique and using dance terminology.
Hip-Hop
8 years and up
Join this high energy class and learn the latest and greatest popular styles and funky
movements of dance.
Lyrical
8 years and up
Combine jazz, ballet, and acrobatic movements into a smooth, flowing dance form.
Gymnastics
Open to all ages
Receive comprehensive gymnastic training in all aspects of floor tumbling, including cartwheels, round-offs, walkovers, handsprings, etc.
